HEIRLOOM B&W Portraits were inspired by the idea that we really are creating heirloom images together that you can print, treasure, and pass on to your children as a memory of their childhood and all the love you gave them to help them grow.

This year, I will be offering select dates of HEIRLOOM Portrait sessions to celebrate all of you.

2025 Dates:

Saturday, April 26th (now booking)

We'll be shooting classic, black and white, Vanity Fair-style portraits using a hand-painted backdrop. You will look timeless and gorgeous while snuggling your love(s).

Room for more

Previously, each session was limited to one parent and child. As I’ve refined the art of taking these special portraits, I’ve gotten, well, faster! I can now accommodate up to four people (e.g. two parents and two children) per 15-minute appointment.

But don’t let that number stick in your mind; you are welcome to come solo as an expecting mama, in a duo as a couple or parent and child, or as a trio as a grandparent with two beloved grandkids. Or of course, come with your beloved pet! The point is: this HEIRLOOM is for your family’s unique legacy.

The Details

What: Iconic black and white portraits

When: First date is Saturday, April 26, 2024

Where: The Creative Hive, Edmonton

Who: Up to four people total, and typically two people are photographed at a time. We rotate through your group and do different combinations. If you have more people in your family, simply book two back-to-back sessions. Pets are also welcome.

Why: To create beautiful portraits to enjoy now, and an heirloom for future generations

  • Of course! You should receive a link to recommended artists upon booking!

  • You can bring up to three people with you per time slot, but please note that you might not all fit into the picture at once due to the size of the backdrop (4ish feet).

    I can promise you that you will have a picture with each person individually or we can rotate through different combinations. Sometimes we can squeeze in all four if your kids are tiny If you are bringing more than four family members, please book additional time (see add-ons)

  • Please do! Many expecting parents have attended HEIRLOOM portraits over the years. One special mother even kicked off her labour at the end of her session! Best memory ever :)

  • Absolutely. That would be so precious :)

  • Yes! HEIRLOOM Portraits work beautifully for couples.

  • You absolutely may. I can issue you a separate receipt for your business if you would like.

  • Possibly! If your pet is somewhat mellow and and you’re not bringing children, for sure they are welcome.

    I am usually totally open to welcoming pets with children, but due to the delicate nature of the floral installations (depending on final designs) I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring along very high energy pets or pets + children this time.

  • Yes, you can order them right from your gallery once it’s ready.

  • Hive 1 at The Creative Hive is an industrial warehouse style space with gorgeous natural light. We will be shooting by one of the huge, clear garage doors in the sunlight.
