A note from Dallas

Summer has arrived!

I’m writing to you from my parents’ screened-in porch in Owen Sound, Ontario. We are here visiting for a few weeks, and it’s amazing to watch my kids make beautiful summer memories with my parents. Some of you may know that my mom is a photographer, too. She faithfully documented our childhoods and now her portraits absolutely cover the walls of their house. With so many core memories on display, my kids are always asking for the lore behind each framed photos. I get to relive the moments when I share stories.

All this to say, being home been a joyful reminder of how lucky I am to document your own memories. Shall we plan your next session?

To make things easy, I’ve filled my booking calendar with all my available dates until the end of summer and it’s all available for you in one place!

Please, set aside the time for portraits this summer. These are our golden days and it would be my honour to capture your stories in pictures.

Some fun inspiration to help you plan your dream shoot

  • Get ice cream together and walk around a cute neighbourhood

  • Pack sand toys and have a beach day at Accidental Beach (Cloverdale)

  • Explore the gorgeous blooms at the Botanic Garden

  • Splash in the shallow waters on the banks of the North Saskatchewan

  • Make lemonade or s’mores in your own backyard

  • Stroll along the boardwalks of Lois Hole Provincial Park in St Albert

  • Visit the zoo and wave hello to the animals, then pause for a picnic

  • Meet me at the Neon Sign Museum for dreamy violet hour (dusk) portraits

  • Bask in golden hour light while sipping bubbly at a scenic lookout

How to book your portraits

  1. Check out the booking calendar below to find the date of your choice.

  2. Select the base portrait rate, then add on the type of shoot you’re planning if it’s a family session, etc

  3. Follow the prompts and you’re booked!

  • After booking, please send me an email and let me know if you have a location in mind or if you’d like suggestions :) hello@luminarie.ca

  • Upon booking, you’ll receive a link to my “Preparing for your Portraits” guide, which shares lots of information about outfits, etc!

  • Of course! You should receive a link to recommended artists upon booking!

  • Please see the Add-Ons section of the booking process, as it details how many people can attend for each type of shoot.

  • You absolutely may. For summer sessions, this is a great way to take advantage of a special rate. Please note that as portrait clients you will receive a completed, curated gallery instead of being able to select your brand images for retouching as is typical with my Story Darling Studios brand photography clients.

  • Possibly! If your pet is somewhat mellow and and you’re not bringing children, for sure they are welcome.

    I am usually totally open to welcoming pets with children, but due to the delicate nature of the floral installations (depending on final designs) I don’t think it’s a good idea to bring along very high energy pets or pets + children this time.

  • Yes, you can order them right from your gallery once it’s ready.
